OUR SECOND CHIEF, Alonzo "Jokey" Spencer 1979-1988 Jokey was born and raised in Sonoita. He worked with Sam Fraizer both at "Sonoita Services" (the gas
station/garage and lunchroom that Sam Fraizer owned) (1) and was a member of Sam's crew with the fire services. OUR THIRD CHIEF, John Everhart 1989-1991 John was born in Nogales and was raised in; Sonoita, Elgin, Yellowstone, Big Bend, Tx. and Wasatch, Utah. In 1959 John’s Dad bought the old 160 acre Beatty Homestead (Circa 1910), now “The Everhart Ranch”.(1) In 1967 John went to and graduated from Northern Arizona University with a a degree in Industrial Arts Education. OUR FOURTH CHIEF, Wess Chambers 1991-1998 Wess was born in Miami, Arizona and raised there until the 7th grade when his parents moved to Phoenix. After graduation from high school, he attended Whittier College in Whittier California for two years. At that time he joined the Arizona Air National Guard with the hopes of becoming a fighter pilot. He attended pilot training in the Air Force and was the distinguished graduate of his class. After completion of pilot training he returned to Tucson and entered the University of Arizona. More...

OUR FIFTH CHIEF, Ed Schaeffer 1997-1998 Ed was born, raised and graduated from high school in Pitman, New Jersey. He graduated in 1965 and had sent applications to severaL colleges, one of which was the University of Arizona. During his senior at high school, a friend had shown him some pictures of Tucson and The University. Ed really liked what he saw, so this young man headed west. He said he loved it here. OUR SIXTH CHIEF, Rick Scofield 1998-1999 Rick Scofield was born in Tucson and graduated from Catalina High School. He earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona in l973. He worked construction until he started his own company called Scofield Construction in Tucson. Many houses were built by his company to include several in Starr Pass and some in Sonoita. OUR SEVENTH CHIEF, Jim Maloney 1999-2002 Jim was born in Sierra Vista and graduated from Buena High School in 1978. He took classes at Cochise College and Pima Community College. He got his Paramedic Certification from Pima College in 1987. His history in this south eastern part of Santa Cruz County is a long one . His maternal grandfather was James Parker, a part of the family for whom Parker Canyon is named. The many acres of land in this area was a homestead belonging to the Parkers. More...

OUR EIGHTH CHIEF, Joseph De Wolf 2002-Present Joseph was born in Brighton, Mass. and spent his school years in Raymond, New Hampshire and Tucson, Arizona. He graduated in 1980 from Palo Verde High School and went straight to Pima College where he took classes in Interior Design. While there he was asked to teach Vocational Education.
