Mission
Fire Station The Sonoita-Elgin Fire Department is a combination department, comprised of about 54 volunteer, reserve, career, and auxiliary personnel serving a 350 square mile district. Some of us volunteer for operational medical and fire duties and others support operations through fundraising, mapping, building maintenance, and other functions.

Our mission is to save lives, protect property and to preserve our environment. We accomplish this mission by recruiting and training dedicated volunteers. We have personnel trained and/or certified as dispatchers, wildland firefighters, structural firefighters, paramedics, basic emergency medical technicians, medical first responders, and hazardous material first responders. Our volunteers are a diverse group, ranging in age from 17 to 86, high school to PhD. Join us!

We have transitioned from being funded by subscriptions and donations to being funded by tax revenues. We no longer accept subscriptions. Donations are welcome.
